                                Randa Mirza
Randa Mirza is a visual artist working mainly photographic medium and video. In 2006, she won the No Limit Prize at Les Rencontres Photographiques d'Arles, an international prize awarded to a photographer or artist who uses photography to help pushing the limits of photographic expression.

Randa Mirza calls into question the notion of identity: she seeks to deconstruct and question normative, gendered and orientalist representations by making visible the actual symbolic, social and political constructions.

Through her work, Mirza questions the nature of images and their social uses. She manipulates the image to reveal the inherent discourse in all representations, the tenuous boundary between fiction and reality.
